Perfection is a misconception

A water bearer in China had two large pots, each hung on the ends of a pole which he carried across his neck.. One of the pots had a crack in it, while the other pot was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water. At the end of the long walk from the stream to the house, the cracked pot arrived only half full. For a full two years this went on daily, with the bearer delivering only one and a half pots full of water to his house. Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments, perfect for which it was made. But the poor cracked pot was ashamed of its own imperfection, and miserable that it was able to accomplish only half of what it had been made to do. After 2 years of what it perceived to be a bitter failure, it spoke to the water bearer one day by the stream. "I am ashamed of myself, and because this crack in my side causes water to leak out all the way back to your house." The bearer said to the pot, "Did you notice that there were flowers only on your side of the path, but not on the other pot's side? That's because I have always known about your flaw, and I planted flower seeds on your side of the path, and every day while we walk back, you've watered them. For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate the table. Without you being just the way you are, there would not be this beauty to grace the house"

Moral: Each of us has our own unique flaws. We're all cracked pots. But it's the cracks and flaws we each have that make our lives together so very interesting and rewarding. You've just got to take each person for what they are, and look for the good in them. Blessings to all my crackpot friends.

As I've Matured.

I've learned that you cannot make someone love you. All you can do is stalk them and hope they panic and give in...
I've learned that one good turn gets most of the blankets.
I've learned that no matter how much I care, some people are just jackasses. I've learned that it takes years to build up trust, and it only takes suspicion, not proof, to destroy it.
I've learned that whatever hits the fan will not be evenly distributed.
I've learned that you shouldn't compare yourself to others - they are more screwed up than you think.
I've learned that depression is merely anger without enthusiasm. I've learned that it is not what you wear; it is how you take it off.
I've learned that you can keep vomiting long after you think you're finished.
I've learned to not sweat the petty things, and not pet the sweaty things.
I've learned age is a very high price to pay for maturity. I've learned that I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy it.
I've learned that we are responsible for what we do, unless we are celebrities.
I've learned that artificial intelligence is no match for natural stupidity.
I've learned that 99% of the time when something isn't working in your house, one of your kids did it
I've learned that there is a fine line between genius and insanity.
I've learned that the people you care most about in life are taken from you too soon and all the less important ones just never go away. And the real pains in the ass are permanent.

The Road to Sucess ........................

The road to success is not straight.
There is a curve called Failure,
a loop called Confusion,
speed bumps called Friends,
red lights called Enemies,
caution lights called Family.

You will have flats called Jobs.
But, if you have a spare called Determination,
an engine called Perseverance,
insurance called Faith,
you will make it to a place called Success.

Remember Good Times, Forget the bad ones ....

Always Have A Dream

Forget about the days when it is cloudy,
But don't forget your hours in the sun.
Forget about the times you've been defeated,
But don't forget the victories you've won.

Forget about the mistakes that you can't change now,
But don't forget the lessons.
Forget about the misfortunes you've encountered,
But don't forget the times your luck has turned.

Forget about the days when you have been lonely,
But don't forget the friendly smiles you've seen.
Forget about the plans that didn't seem to work out right,
But don't forget to always have a dream.

Feelings ....

When you find someone you love
It's hard to tell them how you feel,
but even harder to explain it's real.
It hurts so much to hear that person say,
Im wrong to feel this way,
What can I do? What can I say?
To make you understand how I feel about you each and everyday,
Is it that my heart skips a beat everytime you pass or how the
walls around the heart came down with just a glance.
I toss and turn all night in bed,
thoughts of you running through my head
I don't know what to say to prove that it's real
Words cant express the way I feel
Just hold my hand and look into my eyes
If you see tears falling to the floor then you know
It's meant to be,
that I really do love you . . .

It's Okay To Say Goodbye . . .

It's Okay To Say Goodbye . . .

I can truly understand
if things have gone astray
but please love me enough
to tell me to be on my way

Don't worry about my broken heart
the hurt will mend in time
but thinking I'm a burden
would only be a crime

Maybe the feelings are not the same
or things are getting boring
maybe you want to have some fun
going out and do some exploring

My love, there's nothing you can do
to change the way you feel
I hope you know within my heart
that what we had was real

You were my most precious gift
something I'd cherish forever
the most fantastic friendship
that I'd never want to sever

Be happy for the time we had
of all the good we felt
fate may have other plans
for the cards that we were dealt

I will love you always
in my heart you'll always be
because you were the only one
to see the real me

Thank you, Love, for everything
that sweetness in your voice
for allowing me to be who I am
and for giving me the choice . . .

The Triple Filter Friendship Test . . .

In ancient Greece, scholar and intellectual, Dr. Socrates was reputed to hold knowledge in high esteem. One day an acquaintance met the great philosopher and said, "Do you know what I just heard about one of your friend?"

"Hold on a minute," Dr. Socrates replied. "Before telling me anything I'd like you to pass a little test. It's called the Triple Filter Test."

"Triple filter?" asked the man.

"That's right," Dr. Socrates continued.

"Before you talk to me about my friend, it might be a good idea to take a moment and filter what you're going to say. That's why I call it the triple filter test. The first filter is Truth. Have you made absolutely sure that what you are about to tell me is true?"

"No," the man said, "actually I just heard about it and wanted to tell it to you"

"All right," said Socrates. "So you don't really know if it's true or not. Now let's try the second filter, the filter of goodness. Is what you are about to tell me about my friend something good?"

"No, on the contrary, it is bad "

"So," Socrates continued, "you want to tell me something bad about him, but you're not certain it's true. You may still pass the test though, Because there's one filter left: the filter of usefulness. Is what you want to tell me about my friend going to be useful to me?"

"No, not really." Replied the man.

"Well," concluded Dr. Socrates, if what you want to tell me is neither true, nor good, and nor even useful to me, why tell it to me at all . . .
